The Maria O’Connell Therapy Hub, provided by the Family Resource Centre, offers a safe environment to help, children, adults and families to make sense of their lives and improve health and wellbeing using low-cost Art, Creative Play Therapies and Counselling.

Our colleague Maria O’Connell was passionate in her belief of the beneficial impact of both Art and Play Therapy as mediums of support for both children and adults. Maria worked tirelessly in during the summer of 2021 to plan and design a therapy space along with the Project Manager. Maria’s vision for the Ballincollig FRC Therapeutic Hub was to provide an environment to help children and adults make sense of their lives using Art and creative Play. The aim of the Ballincollig Therapy hub was to a team of Art and Play therapists and counsellors to help children and adults experiencing stress, anxiety, bullying, attachment issues, experience of trauma, domestic violence, ADD/ADHD, PTSD, relocation. The Maria O’Connell Therapy Hub was formally opened in December 2021 and has a team of Art and Play therapists supporting children and adults weekly.
